Before the Damage is Done - Save your Online Reputation

Reputation management is much more than getting bad press that pertains to your business off the Internet, it is about creating an excellence for your company, through a strong online presence.   For the "average Joe" the tools and technology to fix a damaged reputation, or to create or manage public perceptions, are most often out of reach.  Reputation management takes the know-how of an expert.  It is not just about getting the negative press buried so that searchers do not have the opportunity to read it without shifting through hundreds of pages, it is about having the bad press removed from the Internet entirely, and this is hard to do without the right connections.

In fact, it is almost impossible to do, and the need for a professional comes in.  There are many popular sites that can be damaging to a business such as Yelp, Angieslist, and Glassdoor.  Without an outside company that has the ability to work with the sites, it would be nearly impossible to get the negative press removed from the site. It takes an expert.

Reputation management may be fairly new to the net, but, it is affordable. As mentioned earlier, it is not just removing bad press, it is a preventive measure to ensure that your reputation remains outstanding in the search engines and your company excellence is not damaged. It involves company needs, analysis, strategy development, responsiveness, monitoring and reporting.  The strategy is based on analysis and research and there is a great amount of time and labour involved.

Reputation management can build your brand on the Internet, as well.  Online reputation management follows the basic principles of public relations. One simple negative review can hurt the business a considerable amount.

However, favorable content improves the excellence of the company. Therefore, it is essential to have the bad review or bad press removed and the favorable content highlighted, so that consumers that do their research on a company before they purchase are able to form a favorable opinion of your company. It is all about being on the right side of the press and an image of excellence, which each company needs to succeed.
